Re: Sans Sucre please
stannarad, check out the forum on vitamin C for lots of info. You can't jump right into mega-dosing. You need to work up slowly. Try starting with 2 grams per day and add more gram each day. When you start getting loose stools you're getting close to your bodies tolerance level. The loose stools are your body's way of saying that it's getting enough vitamin C. Back off about 2 grams from the point where you get loose stools and use that as your daily dose.
I use ascorbic acid from Bronson (
http://www.bronsonvitamins.com ). You can buy 1 kg containers for around $35. I split up my daily dose over four doses with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and before bed. When I first started using vit C my body needed 35 grams (35,000 mg's) per day, now I can't take more than 16 without getting loose stools which is a great indicator that my body has healed ALOT.
Since I started mega-dosing, I've only been sick with a cold once, and even that was near when I first started taking Vit C. I have a feeling that was a detox reaction. At any rate, it was interesting. I took over 60 grams of Vit C on the second day of the cold and did not get loose stools. My body was using every last bit of Vit C I could give it to fight off the virus.
By the way, if you find you can't tolerate the acidity of ascorbic acid, your second best choice is sodium ascorbate.
