I haven't read "Potatoes Not Prozac", but I own DeMaison's other book, "The Sugar Addicts Total Guide to Recovery." I tried to follow her plan for awhile, but it didn't seem to work for me. I couldn't go three hours without snacking after dinner, so I was never able to get any true benefit from the potato. I also went overboard during the first several steps of the program, which state that you can eat whatever Sugar or junk food you want as long as it's with a meal that includes protein. She advocates eating 3 decent-sized meals a day, plus the potato (and no snacking). But I tend to do better with 5-6 smaller meals, so that my blood Sugar levels remain stable and my metabolism doesn't dip too low. Anyway, it's still a very interesting philosophy.
