Things to consider

HI

I have been ill for 8 years with bacterial infections and for most of that time I was on natural supps but found the only time I felt better was when I was on Antibiotics . Don't be afraid to take AB's. If you have a serious bacterial infection they are sometimes warranted. Don't let people make you feel guilty for taking them.

Next, like others have said read everything you can about candida, leaky gut, IBS. Everyone will have such good advice but its you who has to get better. Let your body tell you what is right for you. If you take somehting that others have had good results with and it makes you feel really unwell- stop it. Don't torture yourself.

Some will recommend fermented food. Some people can not tolerate it at all no matter how good is for their body. If you have any type of yeast allergy then these foods like feremented cabbage, kefir, yogurt are just going to spin you out and worsen your situation.

Threelac and primal defence has been debated on this forum several times as to whether it works or not. You have to make your own decision on that. I found threelac and primal defense to make me so unwell. I took both for a year and in that time became so allergic to my surroundings I am now house bound. I listened to others saying that my symptoms were a die off- not!!!!!! The new symptoms I got when taking these products were only relieved when I went back on AB's. The bacillus group of bugs in these products can be detrimental to a immune suppressed individual. Or if you have leaky gut can go to other parts of your body.

If you think of taking primal defense make sure that you are not gluten sensitive as I believe they are now saying that there product is not gluten free.

I have probably scared your to death. That is not my intention. I just recently joined the yahoo groups candidiasis and candidasupport and finally was reassured that yes in the early stages you may not be able to take probiotics because your gut may not tolerate it.

I do believe that diet is a major factor and this again everyone is different. Some believe in cutting out carbs altogether and some others say that you need complex carbs. Test it out- work out what is best for you. With all the info that you find you will taylor your regime. its all trial and error.

Anyway, I wish you all the best. join some other forums and keep doing your research.
