Test before drilling teeth

I agree that Amalgam fillings are not desirable, and should be replaced with composite resin as they wear out. But their mere presence does not automatically mean they're leeching mercury into the body at significant levels -- this can only be determined by quantitative analysis. An "Amalgam bad...rip them out" approach is not helpful, nor necessarily accurate.

"For mercury, hair is excellent at diagnosing 'Methyl mercury' but not 'elemental mercury.'"
"This (urine testing) is better for elemental and organic mercury but not the most dangerous, which is methyl mercury."
"Fecal analysis is the surest method to measure metal exposure. About 80% of all mercury is found in feces...Biospectron's feces analysis is the most essential test to determine exposure from heavy metals like mercury lead and silver."
"The best approach is to use hair for Elemental mercury and fecal tests for Methyl mercury. In this way you can see if you have these two types, see the level of protective minerals in your body and check the rate of excretion through the bowel and liver."

A few posters on this board have spent a couple thousand dollars having extensive dental work performed in "treating" candida. Composite resin fillings (white replacement fillings) typically cost about $200 U.S. per tooth, so replacing say, four such fillings would run up to $1,000. Before spending anything approaching this amount, WHY NOT FIRST PERFORM A $100 TEST TO DETERMINE MERCURY LEVELS IN THE BODY? I'll say it again: Merely having a few Amalgam fillings does not automatically mean that mercury is being leeched into the body in significant amounts. Millions and millions of folks with Amalgam fillings have no candida symptoms.
