can i be a carrier and not know it

it seems every time i have intercourse with my girlfriend she breaks out with a yeast infection days later, however i show no symptoms of having a yeast infection. i have 2 questions

1) can i be a carrier and not know it?
2) what can i do to prevent this from happening to my girlfriend?
