My monologue about The Grocery Manufacturers of America (GMA)
Do you a have a list of "trustworthy" three-lettered criminal organizations like AMA, FDA, CDC, NIH et cetera? Well, if GMA is not on your list, you should definitely add it. What is it?
It is a very powerful lobyist organisation that represents bullying food companies. It is a vehicle to push their agenda and protect their interests, any interests, economical, financial, and, of course, political. Who are the passengers of of this lemon car? General Mills, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, Prochter&Gamble, CocaCola, Altria and so on and so on. Nice company, huh?
What's the big deal? let's take a look at already discussed carcinogen, acrylamide. Nerve system damage and tumors- thats what basically it does. You know, french fries, potatoe crisps. GMA reacted like that: hey, that our bloody money, we are going do defend it!
Here is what sweedish scienbtists told: "Experts from Sweden's National Food Administration, a government food safety agency, said potato crisps may contain up to 500 times, and french fries more than 100 times, more acrylamide than level allowed in drinking water by the World Health Organization."
and now, what GMA told:
"there is insufficient data that would warrant consumers changing any eating habits." Similalry reacted McDonald's, Burger King and others. Wow, what a surprise!!
GlaxoSmithKline and Altria is also a nice company inthe GMA bordel: one is providing us with tobacco and another- with Nicorette (and both are laughing out loud at those stupid consumers). Nevermind that tobacco kills 440,000 times more people than canabis (440,000 vs 0,000). Life is beautiful.
Lies of GMA Testimony Before the House Government Reform Subcommittee on Human Rights and Wellness:
"We communicate clearly in labeling, packaging and advertising to enable consumers to make informed choices that best meet their lifestyle needs and physical activity levels." I guess that was written by Altria 'cause it communicates ingredients very clearly on a pack of Marlboro.
"We advertise responsibly, and will continue to take into account the special needs of children. We will encourage effective voluntary, national self-regulatory mechanisms promoting responsible advertising and marketing. "
Do you believe that? I don't.
"The self-regulatory system managed by the National Advertising Review Council (NARC) deserves much of the credit for the truthful and responsible advertising that consumers see today".
Association of National Advertisers (ANA), The Quaker Oats Company (who's parent is Pepsico) and others has their directors on the bord of directors of NARC. The Association of National Advertisers (ANA) itself shines with members like McDonalds, Merck, Nestle, Pfizer, Coca-Cola and many others. So much for self-regulatory systems. It would be a nice dinner: Bigmac, nestle chocolate (with rBGH laden milk), sudefed for your stuffed head (from mass advertising) and to top it all with diet coke with one of the most terrible
food additives ,
Aspartame (thank you, mr. sercetary of defence).
I believe that fish rotts right down from the head. The higher the worse stink becomes. Here is something for you. Susan Stout
is Vice President, Federal Affairs of GMA. Among impressive resume highlights we find she also serves on the Board of the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC). This yet anothe lobbying group orchestrated afterschool nutrition program. And what do you know?- it is created by National Dairy Counsil! Ha ha ha!
Next. C. Manly Molpus is President and CEO of GMA. Oh, by the way, mr. Molpus serves by appointment on the USDA/USTR Agriculture Policy Advisory Committee for Trade and the U.S. Department of State’s Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy. It is very sad folks that GMA has direct connections inside of big fat belly of our beloved uncle Sam. very sad, but not a surprise at all. At least for me. Those who should protect us are actually playing for big bucks.
I mean really, look what companies people are on the board of directors: Kraft Foods Inc., PepsiCo, Inc., ConAgra Foods, Inc., The Procter & Gamble Company et cetera.
That's enough for me. It's so disguisting, all that web of lies, political power and greed. At least it's my humble opinion.
