Tim McGraw Faith Hill

If you listened to the news today, you would have heard that Tim McGraw/Faith Hill, the married country western singers, had negative comments to say regarding the Katrina effort. Tim is from Louisiana and Faith is from a little town right outside my town of Jackson, Mississippi. Tim and Faith said too little is being done too late. Most people, including me, agree with them. You know, it it weren't for the churches nationwide helping with the rebuilding effort, very little progress would be made.

The casinos that have opened on the Gulf Coast are having a hard time finding people who will work. A lot of people are apparently enjoying living on their FEMA money and have no desire to work. How sad! So, the casinos are bringing in people from Jamaica to live and work on the Gulf Coast. One casino has over 300 new employees from Jamaica working. I tell you, it's going to be a whole new world down there. Of course, when the lazy people living on the FEMA money have no more FEMA money, you will hear them on the news!

A good friend of mine who lives in Ocean Springs, MS. has had something good come out of Katrina. When Extreme Home Makeover came to Biloxi to help rebuild a clinic, my friend's 22 year old son volunteered to help the team. He is a very good carpenter and it didn't take long for the Extreme Home Makeover team to realize that. They have offered him a full time job and he's been invited to join the team!

Please keep Bayou LaBatree, Alabama in your thoughts and prayers. So much attention has been focused on New Orleans and Mississippi, but Alabama was hit hard, too. 80% of the town of Bayou LaBatree has been destroyed and very little has been done.

We are less than 3 months away from beginning yet another hurricane season. Thousands of people are still living in tent cities.........
