Thanks for the kind words, Corey.
You were indeed fortunate, and I'm
relieved to hear it. A lot of places
on the Gulf Coast were devastated.
Ivan apparently spawned some tornadoes, which destroyed structures right down to the
foundation. A number of people have
lost everything.

The power lines in Palm Beach County, Florida, my home, all seem
to have become terminally ill. The
power goes off now for no apparent
reason. We all keep our flashlights
close at hand. The only warning is
the gunshot-sound of of a terminal
atop a telephone pole, blowing up.
And then it gets dark and quiet.

I bought a lantern in Costo yesterday for $15.00 that works on
four D batteries. I highly recommend
it. When the power blew last evening, I spend two hours reading
by the bright light of my lantern;
a very pleasant experience.

At some point, Corey, life will return to normal. But we're not there, yet. And for a growing number of people in at least 4 states, life
will never, ever be the same again.
My heart goes out to them all.
