If I were you, I'd avoid a motel.
Many of them were built with little
more than wallboard and stapleguns.
I think you and your toddler would
be safer at home. It sounds like your intuition is telling you the
same thing.

Nor would I go out on the road.
I've already heard a slew of horror
stories from friends who tried to
drive away from Frances. They ran
out of gas, they got stuck in
endless traffic jams, they barely
avoided collisions, on and on. Driving in South Florida is scary
enough at normal times. You don't
want to be out there with your baby,
amid a welter of severely frightened
people, as well as the usual lunatics.

My advice would be to hunker down
and ride it out where you are. That's what I'm going to do.
