Ahhh...

It is death and that fear of darkness that both spawned religions and gods in earlier times of far fewer comforts. Its time we the human race let go of that baby blanket.

The question about after death will get a response from athiests that frames their view - "WE DON'T KNOW".
Thats a big part of why I don't believe in god, because we do not know. Why die for something so uncertain?
As for after death, I picture myself rotting after I die. Only 'my time on earth when I was breathing', and the actions I did then and the memories that the living have of me are going to linger on as "life after death".
