Makes perfect sense. I don't agree with it, because in the final analysis you're saying that you'll trust yourself. You are you own authority. Your experience is not open to investigation by anyone else. However the Bible is an objective authority.
I accept the Bible as the final authority. I recognize my sinful nature and my desire to have it my own way. I trust the Bible to inform me and shape my values and convict me of waywardness.
I cannot trust myself, as the scripture says the heart of mankind is despartely wicked and we are unable to apprehend truth on our own. It must be revealed. If we accept our own experiences, be they spiritual or not, in the final analysis we have no objective truth. This leads to inevitable relativism and the confusion that follows. As the scripture says, "they all did what was right in their own eyes" and "my ways are not your ways, nor are my thoughts your thoughts."
