Re: wow... that was soooo cooool... loved it...
I lost some friends too, along the way.
My sponsor told me some have to leave, but you have to stay.
She also said some have to die so others may live.
I learned what I could so I had some thing to give.
They said to keep it you have to give it away.
Over and over I heard it said "Just For Today."
I was told to change every thing to be a success.
Down to putting on my shoes, first right, then left.
I would stand in their circle and hold onto their hands.
I met all kind of people there, from many lands.
It did not matter who you were or what you have done.
They said don't leave now, the miracle has not even begun.
"Beyond your wildest dreams," I did not understand that one.
In the beginning my dreams were to drink and some times smoke a big fat one.
Gradually the things I heard started to sink in.
I was no longer clouded by beer, drugs or gin.
"Stick with the winners" they yelled all the time.
A cup of coffee did not even cost a dime.
I sat in meetings all day back to back.
I smoked a whole bunch of cigarettes, way more than a pack.
I got what they had and I give it away.
I am willing to help any one, any time, any day.
I chaired meetings, made coffee did all kinds of work.
I even took coffee to the new one... all his hands did was jerk.
I got there one day at a time and so can you.
AA is a good program and will work for me and you.
If you have a desire to not drink, do 90 in 90
Thats what they said, and at the end you can think.
The clouds will lift and the sun will show through.
I don't ever have to drink again. And neither do YOU.
