Juvenile Polyps

Hello experts and those who have a similar condition,

My 12 year old son has had 6 colonoscopies in the past 3 years. He has juvenile polyps in his colon which cause him to bleed among other things. He has had colonoscopy one after another in hopes of eliminating the polyps but they keep coming back. We are currently scheduled to have his colonectomy based upon several Drs advice. I would appreciate to hear from anyone that has had a similar problem and what their solution was. I would prefer not to have him go through the surgery and all the ordeal with the surgery but is this our only alternative?? All of the polyps have been non-cancerous. His cousin does have the simliar condition but some of the polyps were abnomatous (sp)pre-cancer. Please respond quickly.
