I'm on day 5 of my first clense ever, and I had two thoughts. But first, have you always disliked maple syrup, or is it just the "lemonade mixture" after only drinking it? I had serious doubts by day 2 because of the taste - I almost gave up because each sip I was wincing, and I was pondering whether the torture was really worth it. I decided to just limp along and bear it for a little longer, and all my reactions upon tasting it did diminish, and I have been impressed and thankful for the knowledge, as it came as randomly as everything else in my life has! It could be the bodies way of telling you, hey I want some food to digest, which is normal. The other thought, is in regards to the brand or type of Maple Syrup, along with the grade (A, B or C). I am using grade A, and it's all right - but after a few days, it really was SOOO much easier to tolerate, including the Cayenne pepper discussed!
