Re: Goals of fasting

Great goal! I am hoping for the same, but feel like the weight loss is a good barometer of how far I have come. My eating is erratic, and I want to only be craving healthy food.

I have a severe back problem (birth defects compounded by obesity) and getting the weight down is the best chance I have of living with my situation without medication or surgery. Thus the weight loss goals.

Exercise is going to be a big part of reaching my goals, but I have to take it slowly. I am going to start back at 1/2 mile on the treadmill, 3 times per day, every other day. I also have been given some exercises I can do with my BowFlex that will not aggrevate my back (or the Arthritis in my shoulders). I know it will work, because I was making good progress 2 years ago. So good that my doctor released me to return to work. Unfortunately, my back got worse due to the driving involved in my job, and I also regained about 40 pounds, increasing my pain level. I quit my job (beginning of March) and will have a much more flexible situation now, and I want to take advantage of this to invest in my health.
