sense of smell and dry sensitive skin

This is my 13th day of first properly done MC. This past week my skin has been getting much drier and kind of shrivelled on my face, neck and hands. So far none of the natural creams or oils I've tried have done more than give a little relief. (I'm 45.) Also the back of my hands have been quite sensitive at times with little sores on them. Today, perhaps from the oil blend I've used on my face, I have reddish sensitive areas near my temples. Does anyone else have any insight on this?
Also, my sense of smell has been more keen since about day 6. That's kind of cool. However, there sure are a lot of foul odors everywhere. I've been dealing with that by using pleasantly scented things in my environment. BTW, I don't seem to be getting the foul breath/ Body Odor (according to my sons) that other people are mentioning. Anyone else experiencing a heightened sense of smell?
