SOMER: Still hanging in there- Day 11 Update
Hi Somer:
Just wanted to give you an update on my progress. Last time I wrote you I was in an aweful crisis. I nearly gave up! Even after receiving your wonderful advice things got even worse for me physically. I literally had to miss work and get into bed, so that I could continue. My body went through so much misery and pain between Day 7 & up until about yesterday evening.
Little did I know that my menustrual cycle was tring to kick in early, when I had previously told you about the massive back aches, puffy stomach, and pain & numbness I was having in my legs, arms & hands, I never assumed that my period was about to begin. I had planned the fast purposely before I thought my period would come so that it would not confuse me about my body's progress, but my body did it's on thing. I don't have as much blood flow as usual, but I'm definitely passing a lot more clots than usual when I go to the restroom. Once my period started, it did seem as though my back began to subside hurting a little. So I don't know if the pain I felt from it starting, but I didn't want to take any chances with it reocurring. So I followed your advice about drinking the
Watermelon seed tea.
And I just wanted to let you know that my back pain is now all gone & I am going to the restroom to urinate more often too. I can even see an improvement in my stomach's puffiness. Today I felt good enough to go out for a little while with my kids. I was debating on what to wear & though I would try on this pair of jeans that I have been dying to get back into. I was happy to find out that they now fit again & I got into them without any struggle. I know the fast is not just for the sake of loosing weight, but since it is my own personal battle it is great to finally start feeling & looking slimmer. I was curious about how much I might have lost & it turns out, I've lost 15lbs. I feel very proud of myself for struggling through my low point. I am coming to realize what I continually see you give as advice about struggling through the low point of fasting and breaking on a high note. It truly give you more sense of accomplishment in seeing your body fight the toxins out.
My orignial goal is 14 days, but I am thinking about going on a little further & just take it day by day after I complete my 14th day. I am however, growing a little tired of just doing the lemonade fast. I am not really getting as much bowel movement either any more, just butt pee. I would love to still see plenty of movement going on. I don't feel my colon is cleaned very well yet, because my eyes have not gotten extremely white like they did from when I did my last fast. I a possibly thinking of switching to a juice fast for as long as I can go.
Question: If I decide to go this route, should I break off as planned with orange juice, but bypass eatting the vegetable soup and go directly into just juicing. I have never done juice fast before. But I have read some of your tips to others that you should drink 3-6 glasses of it a day.
Once again, thank you for your support & fasting tips!! I will continue to keep you updated on my progress.
