I am relieved to hear that you are having some detoxing symptoms :-)
In respect to Stevia: Ask a dozen different people and you'll get a dozen different opinions. After what you wrote I did some more research I found that it has been used for centuries in Latin American cultures, however that no long-term research and no genetic research has been done, neither in the United States nor in Europe.
I think, as always, it is personal choice. Just as I stay away from Splenda, I stay away from Stevia, Saccharine, Aspartame, etc.
Apart from all these ramblings - it is always a bad sign when a person throughs one ingredient into everything to make it palatable. For years, I was a major Coke (2 litres a day was nothing) addict. Four years ago I went cold turkey and haven't had it since then. At the same time I discovered my intolerance to wheat. I ate it mornings, middays, evenings, round the clock. I was addicted to wheat, so that is why I get a bit anxious when someone tells me that they put one ingredient into everything they drink or eat...
Apart from all of this, I do think that the cleanse should be done without any sweeteners apart from the Maple Syrup, as there is no nutritional value to Stevia and you really do not know whether it is detrimental to the cleanse or not.
