Re: I'm just calling them out as scripture says

I've finished listening to all this now and while I don't have the time to go through all he said that I disagree with, I do want to talk briefly about this part:

Around the 16 minute mark, he says: "This also brings up the other question. What exactly saves? Jesus dying on the cross didn't save anyone, never will, and never has.  The blood didn't save anyone. Don't get me wrong, you can't be saved without it, but by itself, it doesn't save anyone.  You are saved at glorification. You were predestined to glorification at the time you believe so you can say you are saved at the time you believed. At the time of regeneration he saved us by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost and we're saved in the future in our salvation. You can call one of those two things salvation, but Jesus dying for you didn't save you because we are told what saves, regeneration is what saves, that's how God saves, Jesus dying for somebody makes regeneration possible, it doesn't regenerate in and of itself."

To downplay the blood of Jesus and say his death doesn't save anyone, is quite alarming. To say that his blood only makes salvation possible, is not what the scriptures say. It says by His own blood he "obtained" eternal redemption, not that it was just made possible.

Hebrews 9:11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

On the cross, Christ offered himself as a once-and-for-all completed sacrifice for sin. We were purchased, bought and paid for by the shedding of Christ’s precious blood.

Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Romans 5:9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Ephesians 2:12-13
…that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Romans 3:24-25 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed…

1 Peter 1:18-19
Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

I'm guessing Kevin Thompson gets quite irritated anytime he hears this famous hymn:
