Vekky, Loquat
Vekky, Loquat: I think what it boils down to is this. You think Pentecostals are wrong. You don't believe in tongues and gifts of the Spirit for today so you exaggerate my beliefs and that of Tansy's to line up with the fake, the false, and the corruption that is going on within the Pentecostal groups to so-called try to wake us up to believe the untruths that you believe.
Many people have already fled from these ministers you are making fun of as they can see the fake etc. Many really are hungry for God. They may at first be duped thinking these men and women have some in with God, but when they go to the meetings and start following them they can see for themselves what is truly going on. I think most of these ministers have a revolving door working constantly.
Why do you think there is so much preaching against church hopping? People leave one display of flesh after another trying to find a group that is real, but they are being intimidated to stay because they do not want to be accused of being an evil church hopper that they have heard so much preaching against. Many rise above it and leave anyway as God draws them out of it. It's clear to me that the church hopping message is just to keep people faithful to them first. They don't seem to worry about the people being faithful to God first.
They also use the excuse that people are looking for entertainment and that is why they go to church. No, people are looking for truth. People are looking for God. They don't want to sit under false teaching. They can find entertainment all over the world.
Costi Hinn left one group that was off to follow another group that is off. The poor man is very confused as I see it when I have listened to him. It is not easy to find a group these days teaching truth without the false. I know they are out there somewhere besides the underground church in China.
Many Pentecostal ministers have their churches follow the examples of the ministers on Christian TV. Yes, going to church became the same as turning on Christian TV in multitudes of Pentecostal churches. Money, Money, Money, Honey, from the time you get there until you go home. Many churches are struggling today as I have heard because they can't draw the crowds. They use the excuse that the people will not come because they are unable to entertain them, or because they do not have a fancy enough building. The truth is they left because they can't find God there. Many are tired of being hounded for money that they don't have. As Mark Taylor says, some of the Pastors are secret government agents and the people don't even know it.
All this does not make tongues and the gifts of the Spirit, false teaching although there are a lot of them teaching falsely about them. There is a true message about the gifts of the Spirit for today that is found in the Bible when it is correctly interpreted.
Mark Taylor also sees the corruption in the movement and speaks against it. It's too early to see what does and does not come to pass from his prophecies. Much of it has come to pass. He is not an Old Testament Prophet, but operates under the gift of prophecy, which in the new testament, must be judged. In the new testament those prophesying are dealt with differently. I highly question that we have ministers today who are on the level of those who were called "Prophet" in the Old Testament. Mark Taylor works to help people start home churches so true Bible believing Christians, who do not want to compromise their beliefs, can have Christian fellowship and Bible study. I doubt he is perfect as none of us are.
