Burning Pain in Cecum
I’m at my whit’s end with this mysterious pain in my lower abdomen. The pain is south of my appendix scar (which was removed 30 years ago) near the upper tendon and feels like a hot, burning ‘something’ (fistula? abscess? fecalith??) which has been bothering me for nearly eight weeks. I saw the gastroenterologist who just waved it off as old scar tissue rubbing against the tendon (and against whatever else is down there) since I am very underweight (42kg at 165cm) but I know and am used to the rubbing pain which this is not (Dr spent about 5 min with me and whisked me off to book an ultrasound for my liver). The burning pain radiates upwards, towards (and feels like) inside the bowel and is so bad that I can’t sit upright and have difficulty walking. Does anyone have an idea what is causing this and how to get rid??
Bit of a potted backstory: for almost a year I’ve been suffering from severe bad health brought on by 3 years of stress, bad food choices, constant use of codeine and a traumatic house move (which also caused a rotator cuff injury) and subsequent job loss (fun times!). I used to suffer from frequent migraines, body aches, dizziness etc. so that my GP labelled my condition as fibromyalgia. Add to that crippling shoulder pain which affected my whole back and you get a general picture of my August ‘17 to March ‘18.
Having done a Candida cleanse in the past (literally before the 3 year stress period started) I knew I had to stop the toxins and get cleansing again however I had developed so many
food intolerances and kept loosing weight (small wonder when most food made me sick) that knowing how to start was very difficult.
I saw a Naturopath who told me about my various immune disorders, that I was severely lacking in B Vit. & Folate and also in Vit. D. She advised to try an
Elimination Diet with the result that the only food that didn’t make me worse was chia seeds. My diet was leaning towards the Candida diet at the time but in March I spent a whole week vomiting (very rare for me) which I imagine was gastritis. I changed my diet to bland foods and started taking gelatine and stomach soothing herbs. Since then I gradually ‘course adjusted’ my diet herbal remedies to follow the Candida protocol but it was during this adjustment period when the problem in my cecum started. By mid April I’d cut out most sugars (I’d still have a glass of diluted pineapple juice to soothe my stomach) and was gradually changing my carbs to whole grain brown rice. Regular bowel movements for me are memories from a distant past but a good dose of Magnesium Citrate or high doses of Vit. C always did the trick - until they didn’t. It felt like all the water was being drained out of my stool which compacted badly. Before my bowels would close off completely I got an enema kit which after 6 weeks of regular use (about every 2 days) and an intense 2 day back-to-back flush finally got the last of the matter out which had impacted in the bottom of the cecum - or have I?? (I found neem enemas very helpful). I now seem to be going through the same 3 day cycle and that specific area doesn’t show any improvement.
Since the compaction fiasco I went on full Candida diet (but going easy on insoluble fibres), been taking turmeric, oregano oil, garlic and oxy tablets on top of the Vits B & D and propolis and am now doing a
parasite cleanse so that I can do a
Liver Flush (I know my liver must be congested since I have frequent bouts of nausea, sudden hot flushes and feel an occasional trickle from the bile duct (I assume). Despite the oxy tablets I’m still rather constipated (I take about 8) and I don’t get on with probiotics at all (bloating) making me think that I need to get the bad out first before the good can do me good. While I know that the poor state of my liver isn’t helping matters I don’t think that the cecum issue is related to it. During the impaction fiasco period it felt like everything was firmly glued to that area, it felt hot and wet and pounding. Now after the enemas, oxy tablets, vegetable juices etc. the feeling of pressure and wetness has gone but it is still a hot, piercing pain which radiates into the gut.
Since the 2-day enema-thon I’ve been going through the same 3-day cycle of: Day 1 - neem enema, area in cecum very hot and painful, Day 2 - two softish bowel movements (thanks to Oxy tablets), pain reduces to localised piercing, Day 3 - harder bowel movements (despite Oxy tablets) pain back to searing heat making it difficult to move my right leg. At that point I think it time to clean out the area again with an enema …
So far I’m 5 days into the
parasite cleanse (none that I can spot with the naked eye), a whole host of my previous symptoms and die-off symptoms have improved (no more heavy legs, brain feels clearer (though still episodes of brain fog)) or maybe shifted to nausea and associated headaches with dizziness and fatigue as my constant companions. The pain in the cecum however is constant (it goes hand in hand with lower back pain) and the Doctors are not in the least bit interested. For the past month I’ve also been experiencing a pain on the right side of my face (as if I’d walked into a lamppost) which gets better or worse with the cecum problem - not sure if this is related.
I almost forgot: I’ve also been taking Serrapeptase for the past month to break down whatever that thing in my cecum is and am now considering bloodroot - any thoughts??
This is a desperate cry for help so if anybody out there has any idea what is causing this and how I can remedy I would be so grateful! I strongly believe that this issue is hindering any progress towards a healthy gut and a pain free or at least less painful life.
PS: Sorry this got a bit lengthy but I’ve only just scratched the surface here 😊
