Think I have a parasite in eye from cat - can anyone advise?

I was given a cat and then discovered that she hadn't been wormed. At about the same time as I was given her I had very itchy eyes and a runny nose. Then within a few days I started to feel something moving on one of my eyes. My eyelid has swollen a little and keeps randomly twitching. I went to an opticians and they couldn't see anything and suggested if it gets worse to go to a hospital. Since that appointment, I am now experiencing pain in my eye.

After the initial sensation of something in my eye which seemed to twitch and move about, I suspected that it could be a parasite from the cat and started eating foods which apparently parasites don't like - taking apple cider vinegar, chewing a little garlic, onion, cucumber, having garlic and green tea, and eating coconut.

Can anyone advise? Has anyone experienced something similar? I've also experienced a reduction in appetite and some nausea. As its the weekend I'm not sure whether its okay to wait till Monday.
