Lactulose - on the final stretch to a cure but have some questions

Has anyone had any experience with lactulose?

I've killed a major amount of candida over the last few months using enemas. I'm talking 10-15 inch strings of fungus. Now i'm not seeing anything like it so I can only assume that I've killed off the majority of the infection.

As per Frostymug's and DVJorge's advice, I've added lactulose (2 tsp per day) to grow my good bacteria levels, especially bifidobacterium. My understanding is once I've brought these levels up, my gut bacteria will come back into balance, symptoms will subside, inflammation will die down, allergies and food intolerances will disappear.

What I've experienced over the past few days of taking lactulose is quite bothersome itching all over my body, mostly thighs, lower legs, shins and scrotum. I've never really experienced this before (except for scrotal itch), even when my candida infection was at its worst so it's a new symptom for me.

Can anyone explain what this is? I.e. does anyone know what the side effects of good bacteria growth are, or is this aggravating candida again?

Frostymug - if you're reading this, did you experience any negative side effects of lactulose before it got better?
