You are misunderstanding. I was alone without counsel when the Lord came into my life. However, a seed was planted already when I was quite young, so I had heard the name of Jesus before, even though I was too young to understand what He did for me. I also had some people try to drag me to certain churches when I was older but at that point I was not interested. My faith did not grow until my encounter with the Lord. I had no counsel other than the Lord and the bible at that time. I had read the bible not long before my experience with the Lord due to seeking for wisdom, but it didn't make sense to me and after my encounter it was like someone highlighted the words to help me understand it. I knew I had been touched and my faith grew because of that touch.

Today I go to church and yes I listen to men tell me what the bible says, but not without the filter of the Holy Spirit helping me know what is right and what is wrong. I feel sure there may be times I have over stepped and worked around the Holy Spirit. I'm sure everyone has to a certain extent, but I stay put in my beliefs until I'm moved out of it. It's not pride that causes me to stay there, it is what is safe to do, until the highlighter shines brighter on the subject.

So telling me that the jews are causing me to use a black magic marker to cross over what the Holy Spirit is sharing with me in the bible, is not going to change my mind.
