Re: Probiotics and antibioitcs

No because it is not like most people mistakenly believe. Antibiotics are not a cause of illness and disease.

The colon is a giant biofilm and biofilms make bacteria resistant to many things which might destroy them in the planktonic state. Biofilms protect bacteria against other bacteria and their natural Antibiotic substances, environmental toxins such as pharmaceutical Antibiotics or natural substances which could destroy bacteria and also offer some protection against bacteriophages.

Destroying bacteria inside a biofilm is extremely difficult, trust me on this because I have been attempting to destroy a number of infections protected biofilms and so far I have had only minor effect despite using considerably more than a simple antibiotic. Some of the worst infections which harm long term health are protected by biofilms, this includes infections which promote cancer development.

Saying all that, I would still be near the end of the queue to take them myself or any other pharmaceutical medication.
