Castor oil contains undecylenic acid which is a strong inhibitor of the "bad" cataract enzyme, calpain.
For this reason it can maintain lens clarity. It appears that many people have had good results with it, and that's great. But according to research reports, pure castor oil is toxic to cells in the cornea which discourages me from using it.
