Vitamin D deficiency prescription

I gather many of you here have a vitamin D deficiency. For the first time, a doctor told me that I needed a high dose prescription, which is 50,000 IU per day for 8 weeks. I googled this and it's the correct dosage for a deficiency. I don't think I ever raised my levels to normal range with a lower dose of vitamin D. To be honest, I stopped taking vitamin D supplements after my level was close to normal because they aggregated my stomach...maybe because I couldn't digest fat-soluble vitamins very well due to celiac disease.

My question is if anyone here has ever taken a high dose of vitamin D? I'm nervous to try it, but I guess I will. I'll go through with it if it doesn't bother me since I'm tired of having a vitamin D deficiency.
