Re: Transitioning from Thyroid meds to Iodine

I find that Iodine is a good partner for all my body, including thyroid, but to date it has never replaced any of my thyroid meds. There are some who have talked on the forum about reversing their cold body syndrome with iodine, and I believe that this possible. However, I also believe that there is a subset of posters whose thyroids cannot manage to function adequately even with the best nutrition.

So, reduce your thyroid meds very carefully. Take your daily rising temp both to see if you are optimal at this time (97.8-98.2F) and to see if that changes. I find that optimal levels of iron are crucial to good thyroid function, with or without meds.
