Transitioning from Thyroid meds to Iodine

I am a 59 year old female who was diagnosed with Hashimotos about 35 years ago. I have been supplementing with synthetic thyroid preparations for years. My current dose is 150 mg of T4, and 10 mcg of T3 daily. I have recently started supplementing with Iodine and am taking 10 drops of Lugols (15 %) transdermally every morning. I have reduced my T4 to 112.5 mg, but am still on the same dose of T3. I am also taking Vit C, Mg,Selenium,B Complex plus extra B2,B3. I am drinking at least 4 liters per day and have upped my salt intake. Diet is high on vegetables, good fats and proteins. I don't do dairy and keep Sugar intake as low as possible. So far my energy levels have been okay so far. Little nervous as I've added a few pounds. Any other suggestions on how to address that issue besides the salt loading? It would be great to hear from other folks who have replaced some or all of their meds with iodine. Thanks. :)
