Contrary to the post above I think the MJ was initiating a die-off reaction. It's known to fight lyme and perhaps even cancer-associated bugs. Your symptoms sound a lot like a strong herx.

I think people in the therapeutic cannabis world usually try to source very pure/organic strains and vape to eliminate toxic effects of the smoke.

In fact I think there is a whole class of so-called toxic drugs and behaviors that are actually just initiating herxheimer reactions and people are misinterpreting what's actually going on... alcohol included.

The crazy behavior people display on both absinthe and tequila come to mind.

Though it was unpleasant and a scary experience it led you to get tested and uncover a potentially serious problem. Another win for cannabis.

I think your intuition is correct - it usually is.
