Re: MS-like symptoms... how long until they go away?
Hi!
Here's my story regarding the Mirena. I had it inserted in March 2016 and had 0 problems until December 2016. I began having bladder issues - urgency & frequency. Thought it was a UTI. Nope. After 4 doctor visits and being referred to a urologist, I was diagnosed with an overactive bladder. I was given Myrbetriq, which helped for 3 months or so, but then my symptoms came back along with a pain around my uterus and down my right leg, tingling, numbness, etc. I immediately made an appointment with my gyno to have my mirena checked. I had an ultrasound done and it showed the mirena a little lower than where its supposed to be (basically like my body was rejecting it) AND several tiny ovarian cysts in my ovaries (I've never had cysts or any health problems before Dec. 2016). I asked her to take the thing out right then. The Doctors dont think that any of it is linked to the mirena, but my inner self has told me that it is ever since I began having these horrible symptoms. I felt like they were diagnosing me with individual issues, but not looking at the root of the problem or linking all of my problems together. It's been almost 2 weeks since I've had it removed. I still feel all the symptoms, but not as bad as right before I had it removed. I'm hoping all of this goes away eventually. In the mean time, I'm keeping a positive mind set, eating extremely healthy (fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, omega 3 vitamins, maca powder, etc.), and taking walks when I feel up to it. By the way, I just turned 26. Keep your heads up :) and get the mirena removed if you've been having any issues! Listen to your body! I'll update my story in the future. Take care!
