Re: Anyone loose weight and KEEP it off?
coconut oil helps to balance your thyroid which could change your appetite but in itself it is not an appetite suppressant. it also helps to increase metabolism, which is also probably due to thyroid changes, hence weight loss. it's anti-fungal properties help with yeast overgrowth in our intestines and healthy intestinal flora equals fewer sugar/carb cravings. there is a lot of information on the internet and several books out about it now. you eat between 1-4 TABLEspoons daily for maximal benefit. I probably use much more, i don't keep track anymore, i just use it. I saw in one of your other responses, nancy, that you were planning a post-cleanse low fat diet and I might recommend a healthy fat diet instead. our bodies need fat to lose fat and bad fats make us sick. organic does not mean healthy. for example canola oil is one of the worst substances we can ingest. don't eat refined oils ever, they are toxic. and be careful what oils you cook with because even raw oils can break down and change into bad oils when they are heated. Coconut oil is one of the best oils for cooking because it doesn't change. that, and our dear friend butter doesn't get destroyed through cooking, but even the ever-loved, healthy olive oil is less than ideal for anything other than low heat because it becomes a trans fat. research it for yourself and disregard any source that touts the heart healthy benefits of canola oil (which stands for 'canadian oil' because it is a prettier title, easier to market than 'rape seed oil' and far cheaper than most oils) or cooking with refined anything.
~and coconut oil tastes good too~
