Re: Anyone loose weight and KEEP it off?
I am currently doing the mc for the second time. I did the mc last year for six days. I broke it because I was super tired the whole time. but I did lose weight, continued to afterward and haven't seen a bit of since. there were two other significant changes that I made as well. the first was transitioning to extra virgin coconut oil, I eat it in everything. I cook with it ( it is one of the best oils for cooking), I use in smoothies, and I add it to anything that is warm like soup or as a topping for rice, toast, anything. I basically substute it for all fats and oils aside from other healthy oils (fish oil, etc..). It is solid at room temperature but melts at 76 degrees so you can use it liquid or like butter. it has many beneficial properties, it helps balance thyroid, increases metabolism, it is anti fungal and anti-microbial, the list goes on. I even use it on my skin after I bathe, it melts on your skin. It smells good and tastes good too!
The second is that my activity level increased. I started riding my bike everywhere that I had to go in town, luckily my town is bike-friendly. and took up running periodically, 2-3 times per week, a habit that faded with winter but I still didn't gain a pound in the winter even though my activity level heavily decreased (I was house sitting in the boonies for the winter so I didn't leave as much especially not on my bike).
also, when I can, I avoid grains and sugar, which is definitly not always - I have a severe weakness for chocolate and an occasional loaf of really good bread.
I am on day six of my second attempt and having a very different expierence, plenty of energy and very few cravings. had a terrible headache last night and this morning but it has passed and hopefully will stay gone.
good luck to you!
