Re: Absolutely do not believe it.
This, along with 2 Thess 1:5-12, is indeed among the most powerful NT statements regarding the second coming, and in the clearest terms that it is possible to deploy, sets out the finality of the coming judgment for every soul, dead or alive, saved or unsaved. There are no qualifications, and they leave no room for special pleading. There is no appeal to a higher authority, coz 'shall not the judge of all the earth do right?' (Gen 18:25).
Sorry to break it to you again refreshed, but these 2 passages alone, nevermind the rest of the NT, scatters any idea of 'surviviors' from the coming judgment to the four winds. And as for that much vaunted millennium, they leave no room for that either, for 'we look for a new heaven and a new earth' (2 Peter 3:13). Now, if Peter had instead said 'we look for an earthly kingdom that will last for a thousand years, then comes the judgment and the new creation,' then you might conceivably have had a viable case.
As it is, relying almost exclusively on Rev.20 to prove your case, and expecting that to overturn the unanimous testimony of the rest of the NT, is a severe case of allowing the tale to wag the dog. Especially when there is an alternative interpretation of Rev. 20 that harmonizes perfectly with the rest of the NT - and indeed even the OT. But more about that later when I can spare the time.
