There are any number of things that can cause liver problems. Many have known that tomatoes, for example, are related to nightshade. The issue is that tomato leaves can quickly send a liver into failure. So can a eating green tomatoes that have not been cooked. Even eating things such as potatoes with green color under the peel or gray colored potatoes can cause problems.
I know someone who visited Eastern Europe a number of years back and after returning home had to have a kidney transplant because they had eaten bread made with some molded grains.
Not saying that there is any relationship in this case, but it is important that we be careful with the foods that we eat.
