Often times though, an overgrowth of demodex mites points to some other problem that is allowing them to overpopulate and this is the cause of the problem. If you are fortunate and your problem is still resolved - great for you. If not, you may want to investigate further.
Demodex mites in the proper population are actually part of a balanced scalp. They ingest excess sebum in the hair follicle and keep things tidy in your scalp. They do not defecate so do not leave waste in the follicle. However, an overgrowth can cause a reaction as can a predisposition you may have to be sensitive to them. If this problem has not been resolved please do get it investigated further. I don't want to alarm you but sometimes other things like tumors of the pituitary can result in "red face" and although highly unlikely it is something you would want to be ruled out.
