How often do parasites cause weight loss and frequent, urgent trips to the bathroom?

When I had a parasite infection I experienced those symptoms. Initially the first 5 lbs of weight loss were welcome. However, just before I went for medical assistance I had lost 10lbs. I was still loosing weight while trying to re-gain weight!
