Re: Making batches ahead

Congrats on making it through day 1!

I make my lemonade ahead about half the time. I make it 1/2 gallon at a time. I use 1/2 the syrup, as the book says you can, to lose weight. Here's how I do it:

3/4 cups fresh squeezed and strained lemon juice
3/8 cups Grade B maple syrup (1/4 cup measuring cup, 1 and a half times)
add water to fill to about 60 oz (just a smidgeon less than 1/2 gallon.)

DO NOT add the cayenne to the batch. Add it to each glass. It gets hotter the longer it sits. I do not like the cayenne. So I pour about a quarter of my glass into a small cup and add the cayenne to it. Then I drink the rest without the cayenne. Then I chase it with a glass of water. Sometimes I drink the cayenne part with a straw (back of mouth to eliminate most of the burning.)

Another thing to consider. Use glass if at all possible, especially when storing your lemonade for the day. You don't want the chemicals from plastic leaching into your drink.

Some other tips for surviving hard days on the MC:

Add more syrup if you feel week, or hungry after drinking. Drink as many as you need during the day. Some days I'll have 7 or 8; other days 4 or 5. Try to get in the 6 minimum, but listen to your body.

Drink as much water as you can in between lemonades. Especially if you're experiencing headaches or mucous drainage. It will keep the toxins/mucous moving out of your body.

Every time you want to eat, tell yourself that it would taste good. But only for a few minutes. Then you'd either feel sick, guilty, or both. Give your body the rest from digestion that it deserves. Remind yourself that YOU DESERVE to be healthy more than YOU NEED to eat. This is temporary, but if you develop good habits after the MC, the benefits can be long-lasting.
