Re: Tyrosine causing shortness of breath for days???
Why do you think you are not "producing" tyrosine.
Tyrosine is one hop from the essential amino acid we much obtain from food or supplements--phenylalanine. You might check out this diagram of the conversion.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catecholamine
We obtain some tyrosine from food.
The enzyme that converts phen to tyrosine needs iron. Any chance your iron is low?
My impression is that
Iodine and selenium have a bigger impact on hypothyroid symptoms than tyrosine.
However, I've been taking tyrosine and related supplements for 15 yrs for my mild inattentive ADD. I am not hypothyroid according to tests over the years; however I like a little of several thyroid support supplements.
Do you have problems in your gut that keep you from absorbing enough Phen or tyrosine--low stomach acid, low digestive enzymes, etc?
Isn't this one of the amino acids that Dr Stephanie Seneff of MIT thinks is affected negatively by Roundup sprayed on
Genetically-Modified-Organisms and other crops? She points out that Roundup and other glyphosate herbicides have a negative effect on our beneficial gut microbes. THey are involved in production of some nutrients we need.
