Re: Tyrosine causing shortness of breath for days???
Tyrosine is one of the last things I'd take if I suspected adrenal fatigue, especially on the cortex side.
Tyrosine is going to feed into the adrenal medulla side since it is upstream from noradrenaline, etc.
Have you tried magnesium, including
Epsom Salt (foot)bath? The sulfate in it also helps to break down the neurochemicals made from tyrosine. The glycinate form of Mg is well absorbed and may promote a calming feeling.
Have you ever tried the amino acid GABA? It is also one of the body's most important natural anti-anxiety brain chemicals.
Do you get enough electrolytes especially sodium?
I wonder if you suffer from some abnormal liver detox processing, or MCS. The Yahoo Frequent Dose Chelation groups is a good place to discuss chemical sensitivities. They'll also be happy to discuss adrenal fatigue. One of the moderators, Josette, had a nasty case of MCS but has been improving.
MCS is a complex topic but if you find an offending food group and eliminate it, you can be rewarded with better health rather quickly.
Btw, I'm certainly not opposed to taking tyrosine in general! I don't have your symptoms. I have a long history of inattentive ADD. I've been taking tyrosine for that for 15 years.
