IMO, chemicals should not be used to make our Colloidal Silver . It should be made with silver & distilled water only. If we add chemicals of any kind, we no longer have pure ionic silver. I have done extensive research that proves pure ionic silver is the very best to kill pathogens. See the chapter, "Truths & Lies here:"

The owner of Silvertron Systems clearly does not agree with this, but I have the 1st class research that proves it.

If you want to speed up the process, then seed your distilled water with a little ionic silver from a previous batch. Your 1 oz silver bar also allows for a higher current than silver wires.
