Broken Cycle?

Please can someone help me to understand this dream, I have a vague idea;

I am a keen cyclist and have a bike.
In the dream I am seeking information about travelling by bike to a place; 140 miles was mentioned, and I did not seem bothered by this distance.
The man I have been chatting with suddenly says "You used to be able to cycle, not now though"..
(words along the lines of)

I turn to look at what appears to be "my" bike resting against a tree and discover to my horror that the chain/mechanisms etc have been replaced by wood, i.e. plywood. The wheels are still there.

I realise that I must find "my" bike. I turn to walk away with the bike and come across a small annoying child who playfully runs in front of my path. I need to get to the cupboard/room where I think my bike is but there is a small green area/playing field with coloured lights(string of xmas tree lights at a low level around) and I worry about getting past this to my destination - concerned about getting the bike wheels entangled in low lying xmas lights.

End of dream

It all seems a bit strange that I am trying to find my bike, when I think I have it, only it will no longer function, I am walking the bike around too.

Can any clever person tell me what does this all mean? the child? the green area of grass with string of lit xmas tree lights? I am not troubled by the distance I need to cycle i,e, 140 miles.

Confused!
