Re: candida overgrowth

I have only posted one other time on this site but, today I felt like I needed to put this down somewhere. First off it sucks to be where you are at and there's no getting around how hard the path is to recover.

In March I was put on a high dose of Flagyl and Cipro when I got back from 3 weeks in South and Central America. Huge mistake..... From then on I knew something wasn't right. My issues worsened over time and in late May I went in for an endoscopy which revealed esophogital candida. I did not know anything about the meaning of what it was at the time. With that said I took my 14 days of low dose diflucan......

The next week I was headed to Europe specifically Germany where I enjoyed the food and culture. Beer, bread and potatoes. After a week and a half I was becoming so dizzy half way through my days I couldn't make it without a nap. I'm 29 year old that prides myself on my health. With all of what was going i furthered my research to alternative meds, and other possible illnesses.

When I I returned home I went to my doctor repeatedly who encouraged eating yogurt, probiotics, blah blah.......I requested to see an infectious disease doctor who told me Kiefer is the answer. Drink 4oz. Daily for 30 days...... bs

Finally fed up with feeling shitty and feeling my body moving and twitching off to the urgent care. I was prescribed a high
dose of diflucan (800mg loading day 1 and 400mg a day for 5 weeks). Same BS no help. I cut carbs and ate like a rabbit like they say you should following a strict candida diet....No help.......

Back to urgent care and they told me stop the diflucan and wait a week then gave me high dose of Ketaconozole..... While still maintaining diet I took my 400mg day one (two days ago) and opened the gates of hell. I could feel the medicine go to work immediately all over my body..... I knew it had already gone systemic.

Day 3 and I am still clearing out popcorn sized kernels of mature Candida albicans and all sorts of mucus......nasty stuff but I am feeling a million times clearer in my thoughts and digestion. Have two more weeks to pump this stuff out and I'm hoping I rocked it like a hurricane. I'm taking 100 billion probiotics twice daily and the primal defense probiotic once. Also I suck down one tbsp of Colloidal Silver 500ppm per day. I am on a combo effort of pharmaceutical script and the homeopathic method. But it is working and whether or not it is one or the other I don't care I just want my life back.

6 months later I can see the light and am gunning for the end of this tunnel. Don't wait to start your treatment ..... It only gets worse. If your docs jerk you around go find somebody new that is willing to start treatment. I am not advocating for any pharmaceutical scripts just wanted to give you an idea of my hellish journey.
