Re: Am I stuck with amalgam forever?
Hi Dom,
If I ever heard a reason for getting a second opinion, you have one.
I'm not a dentist, but it sounds like BS. What are the odds of having 12 Amalgam fillings that are all deeply installed?
Why would you have any more sensitivity with a composit filling than with amalgam?
Looks to me like removing 12 amalgams, then doing 12 root canals would be a windfall for the dentist.
My opinion is to find holistic dentist that understands the protocol for removing amalgam so you don't ingest it, as well as breath it while he does the work. This is important for your health even if the other doc was right, which is doubtful.
I wouldn't tell him/her that you need a second opinion. Just show interest in the removal. If he doesn't mention the sensitivity issue, then you can ask questions about that.
If he's a holistic dentist, he won't be trying to sell you on root canals. Check out this holistic dentist in ARZ. Also the tooth meridian chart. If you have any health problems this will allow you to match them up with the problem, and remove them first so the cost will be spread out. http://mydentistaz.com/interactive-meridian-tooth-chart/
