Re: Need help understanding

Hmm yeah 5 days that's not very long so it can't be because of that, I used a hydrocortisone for like 3 months non stop with the leave it alone method. You shouldn't use steroid cream that long but my derm told me that hydrocortisone is a weaker steroid and is allowed to be used longer.
I'm no longer leaving it alone but i'm also not biting on it. I just eat everything normally letting everything touch my lips and the top layer is so weak that it just comes off because of the food touching it...
The reason that this is so frustrating is that my derm keeps telling me i'm healed because I no longer get crusts, and if I don't let anything touch them they heal and look really good and I get all the lines in my lips back, I just can't eat anything or they come off, or even when I shower
For the last couple of months I tried letting them get alot drier hoping this would help strengthen them a bit, but it didn't

As of today i'm putting a thin layer of aquaphor back on constantly

As far as leaving them alone, I don't really think that's necesary, especially with a steroid cream, I wouldn't bite them off but just eat normally and if it comes of just let it, I really think my problem came because I left them alone for too long with a thick layer of cream on them for like 6 months, weakening my natural immunesystem for my skin. But yeah I don't know anymore been trying to heal them for 1 year and 4 months now and i'm going a bit crazy lol
