Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate the feedback. How long did you use the steroid cream ?

So far I have used it for about 5 days (not long at all), and intend to use it for a similar amount of time as Daniel Miller. He used it for one month and then for two weeks at a time followed by a two week break and then every other day etc etc. Slowly cutting down on it. The reason I am using it is because its supposed to speed up the wound healing.

I have tried many other ointments including aquaphor but taking a look at my attempts I have not spent more than one month with the same method. I'm positive the leave alone/moisture method is the right thing it's just sticking with it until success. Maybe we just have to accept the fact we are expecting a cure to soon ?

So far the steroid cream works at keeping the outer parts on the lip. Those photos were taken right after the shower. Even if I don't wipe off that gunk it will dry and the lips will look normal-ish afterwards. I would say the steroid is a slightly better option than aquaphor, because aquaphor needs more applications a day and it doesn't stop the skin from drying and curling. It's equally as horrible taste. I'm not sure which I hate more lol. I find with the steroid cream, after a shower the entire lot peels off just with the water and then I put some on again.

I hope you are leaving them alone and not nibbling/licking at them? I think we are going to get through this !! It helps me to examine the inner part of the lip where it all rubs off to try and see if any of those lines are forming deeper. It seems right now the lines are fine on the outer part and then when they receed into the mouth they disappear or the lines break up like a canal/river. Sorry to ramble on. Please feel free to post anything you like. At least with the annonymity of the internet there is always someone that can relate to how you are feeling even if it's over something as bizzare as this.
