From the scientific literature it seems doxycycline is only important in the treatment of filariasis involving wolbachia as a symbiotic bacteria.

For other filariasis like Loa Loa, doxycycline is of no use.

For nematodes other than filaria, doxycycline is of no use as well.

I don't understand why ICU's strongyloids protocol requires doxycycline.

I haven't bought doxycycline yet because I don't feel like to take it, I had taken it for extended period of time to treat Lyme Disease in the past. Because of this drug my sex drive had completely gone.
