I totally agree with you. Although I have had minor success with 5-HTP, pure L-Tryptophan has helped me the most. I also have found relief from L-Tyrosine but I take like 3500 mgs at a time.. It wasn't until I followed the advice at 'thewayup.com' and boosted my dosage until I felt ANYTHING
I highly recommend this brand of L-Tryptophan. It is German made and of pharmaceutical grade. I LOVE it and have tried a few different kinds. :)
