It sounds like a mechanical problem caused by a gallbladder stone/stones. It is usually an extremely slow, prolong process that takes many, many years and may ultimately develop into an acute pancreatitis due to complete blockage of pancreas. You need USG/MRI investigation to locate gallbladder stones.
