Considering a Liver Flush for IBS-D

I've had IBS-D for over 20 years. It started while out of town at a concert. We left the concert (outdoor in the rain) and went back to the hotel to drink beer and eat pizza (typical college day.. lol). That night I got so sick I will never forget. I was blowing out of both ends all night.

Ever since that day I've had terrible D every day. Lactose intollerance as well (which was the major cause of the D at first, now it's worse and most sugars cause D).

It was like someone flipped a switch in my body from normal (not even thinking about going Poop) to "haha.. deal with this pain the rest of your life! Have fun being locked in your house and always looking for a bathroom when you go out."

What lead me to thinking of doing a liver/gb flush is because I feel I'm lacking bile. All this time I thought the burning yellow D was too MUCH bile, but further research has convinced me it's the opposite.

The only thing I don't like about the routine is the apple juice all day. to much Sugar of any kind (including fruit juice/sugars) gives me terrible D. I normally eat 1/2 an apple 2x a day (with the seeds!) and also 1/2 a grapefruit. The rest of my diet is pretty good since anything bad will give me D. mostly whole unprocessed foods (meat, veggies, fruit, etc).

I also take at least 2 immodium a day to try and keep things half way normal and so I can leave the house. On trips I'll take even more (up to 8 a day) and still have 2-3 BMs a day and sometimes even bad D attacks.

With immodium the BMs are normally formed ok, but loose. They are light colors and yellow. When I have a bad episode it's like shooting bright yellow fire water out of my rear. sometimes 10x a day.

My GI doc says it's post infectious IBS-D and the nerves in my intestines are "raw" and sensitive. He said to try peppermint pills and cholestryramine. Didn't really do much for me.

I think it's a lack of bile. I would love to do a flush but worry about so much juice, and to a lesser extent the Epsom Salts since I've VERY sensitive to magnesium too (the amount in a normal multi vitamin will give me terrible D).

I have a couple days coming up where I can do a flush... so I'm wondering if I can skip the apple juice and many just keep eating my 1/2 apple 2x a day instead.

Or, maybe I'm going at this all wrong... after over 20 years I have to try everything and all my symptoms (weight gain, even with D, lethargy, high BP, high liver enzymes, fatty liver, low Testosterone, etc.. etc...) all point to a lack of bile and poor fat digestion.

I plan on trying ox bile as well to see if that helps. I am also taking dandilion and artichoke extract to see if that helps.

thanks!
